This is a great one to do with kids. Have fun and enjoy the creativity of this DIY!
What you’ll need
Skewers or Sticks 4-6
Two skeins of yarn in desired colours
Twine
Instructions
1. Collect your sticks or skewers, lap them over each other to make your star points. Tie them in the middle - wrap your twine around each stick to make sure it’s secure, then tie a not. This leaves you with the skeleton of your star.
2. Grab your first colour of yarn and tie it around the centre of your star. Now you can start twisting the yarn around each stick, there are many different ways to twist and turn your yarn and each variation gives you a different effect. We suggest you have fun and experiment- find which variation you like most and follow that pattern for about 10 rounds then switch it up. You could follow and up down up down pattern or a twist around each stick then move on pattern.
3. Once your star is full tie off your last piece of yarn off on one of the sticks and cut the last little bit off. You can use as many different colours sticks as you’d like!
